Little Pilgrim’s Preschool and Enrichment Center brings many celebrations to it’s families. We love coming together because we believe that strong relationships, builds a strong community. Your children will make many friends through Pilgrim’s, and with that, you will make friends. Come join us for one of our many gatherings in Oakland.
Our Christmas Program celebrates the birth of Christ, and tells the story of how it happened, acted out by the children. This event is often times very cute and humorous. This is one of the Pilgrim family’s favorite events. It really gives you the Christmas Spirit.
Our Multicultural Potluck - Diversity is something that we celebrate daily at Pilgrim’s, but during February we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Dream. We celebrate everyone’s culture during this month, learning about one another all month long. With special food, music, and lessons we learn who we are. We come together at the end of the month for a potluck, where everyone brings food, the children sing & speak, and we have fun.
Our graduation program celebrates a milestone for both our Preshoolers, that are moving on to Kindergarten, and our Shool-age children moving on to Middle School. This is always an emotional event, as we celebrate our children moving forward in their lives. Many of our Schoolage children have been with us since Preschool, so to watch them move on to Middle School, and saying goodbye for now is always emotional.
During Halloween, we offer a safe, family friendly Halloween Carnival. Everyone comes in costume, and has a good time. We have games set up, a potluck, and of course our community. During this season, our preschool also goes on a field trip to Ardenwood Farm’s Pumpkin Patch near Fremont, CA., to pick out the perfect pumpkin for each child. We have been putting on our Halloween Carnival for over 25 years, and nothing complete’s the celebration like our neighborhood parade!
Please check back for specific dates for our celebrations!
In Pilgrim’s Big Blue Bus, Pastor Holt drives us to and from our field-trips during our Summertime program. Our field-trips have included, Six Flags, the Steinhardt Aquarium, The Oakland Space and Science Center, Kennedy Park, the Oakland Zoo, the Exploratorium, and many more. Our field-trips are broken up into small groups, so that supervision and teaching is more personal. We also rely on the buddy system to make sure each child is responsible for one another. The field-trips are always educational and fun.
